Risk Taking

In this episode, Sarah and Jez explore risk-taking and discuss how we assess risk all of the time. They look at how our reference points from our previous experiences affect our perception of risk and so may affect whether we are willing to take a risk or not. They also discuss how our perceived fear of an outcome may stop us from taking risks so it is important to ask ourselves, "What is it that is stopping me from taking a risk/leap of faith and allowing myself to move forward?"

Risk-taking is often mostly thought of as being when we are looking at taking a perceived big risk, but just crossing the road presents us with risk that we assess regularly. They remind us of how we are responsible for the risks we choose to take and how the majority of risks that we take are not irreversible - if we don't get the desired outcome, we can reassess the situation and make other choices in order to get to the desired outcome.
